2 down.....1 to go!
I've spend the whole weekend at work......32 hours in 2 days and there's still a little energy left to update my blog, hmmm I wonder why tralalalala???
The excitement is running through my body, so it's a good thing that I keep myself busy right now. Today is about sleeping, chilling and probably a good movie!
My last day off before I enter the funhouse madness..........so, Im going to enjoy it to the fullest! Tomorrow I have another nightshift and on Tuesday I have my belated birthday dinner with my family!
The weather sucks at the moment......rain, cold, boring and dark so let's keep our fingers crossed for better weather in the next couple of days!
Time to hit the sack now.......there's nothing better than sleeping in my own, warm bed!
Enjoy your day!!!!

Amsterdam!
I really love these kind of hook ups.....no planning, just spontanious!
We would meet each other at The Dam and I was planning to show her some hotspots in Amsterdam. No tourist stuff, but the real deal!
Yahel brought a friend we had fun right from the start!
I wanted to show them my favorite bar, "Wynand Focking"
If you don't know where the place is, you can't find it.......it's hidden between buildings.
It's a small, local bar where they serve special drinks, with special flavours.
Apple pie, cookies....you name it!
People are always impressed if I take them to this place! It's typical Dutch......
I ordered apple pie for the girls and cookies for myself! You get a small glass, filled to the top......and you need to sip it, without holding the glass!
40% pure alcohol!
Yahel really loved the apple pie flavour and bought a bottle afterwards!
After a few drinks we went to an Italian restaurant to eat something! We talked, laughed and had a great time.
The pizza was good, not that special tho.......and we decided to grab some coffee in the coffeeshop!
The Green House!
Every tourist knows The Bulldog, but If you really wanna experience the real local dish and the atmosphere.....you need to know the hotspots!
The Green House is the place where all the famous rockstars come to hang out.
The guys from Live (ofcourse hehe) Foo Fighters, Ozzy Osborn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. are hanging out here when they're in Amsterdam.
Im not a regular weed smoker anymore, but every now and then I like the feeling of being high......
So, we bought some local dish and laughed, laughed and laughed!
Yahel really wanted to buy some seeds, so she can grow her own weed on her balkony in Paris!
I took them to the best seed shop and she bought her seeds....All happy!!!
Yahel wanted to show me a bar, but we ended up being lost in the streets of Amsterdam haha!I was talking and talking and all of a sudden Yahel asked me something, but I misunderstood her completly. She was asking "when are the shops closing" with her cute France accent and for some weird reason I thought she was saying "when's your ship cruising" and I was like WTF, I'm here by train....it's not like every Dutchie has his own ship, just because we have the canals" and seriously.....we couldn't stop laughing. Hilarious shit hahaha!!
I couldn't stay to party with them unfortunately, but I recommended Paradiso.......so Im pretty curious if they found it!
What a fun night, I can't wait to party again in 10 days!!!

My second home......
Let's do Leiden first, since I spend there a lot of time (mostly nightshifts) lately!
I work at 3 different locations in the South-West of Holland and Leiden is the most interesting place to work! This medical centre is specialized in transplantations (bone marrow, heart, liver and kidney) and has a special neonatology unit. So most of my work is for little newborns from nearly 1000 gram or very sick patients who wait for a new organ.
Besides my work for this hospital I work for the military bloodbank, umbilical cord bloodbank (reseach about stem cells) and Europdonor.
My office in Leiden:

I work during my shifts with medical drivers and co-workers who prepare the bloodsupplies before it's ready for transfusion. And it's often a matter of life and dead, so we need to act quick!
My shifts are pretty hectic and busy, but every now and then I can rest for a few hours.
I have my own bedroom/bathroom at work! It's like a hotelroom.....I don't have to come out if it's quiet hahaha!
It has a tv, dvd-player, fridge and microwave!
Bedroom:

Bathroom:
I get a lot of satisfaction and I learn new things every day, which is challenging and it keeps me sharp.....
I think this will give you a good impression of my job in Leiden.....any questions? just ask!!
Sushi!
We talked about traveling, made new plans and we had a nice and quiet dinner together <3>

Let's see if my Swedish girls love it as much as I do, cuz we're planning to eat here again on the 25th of february, before the Pink madness kicks off........

Happy birthday to me......

Pre-birthday party!
My friendship with Mirella is special. We grew up together and been through a lot.
She's back in my life for almost a year now, after a separation for a few years (long story) but our friendship is really back on track and it's based on respect and honesty.......and humor!

The guitar is popular and it's fun to see that I inspired my friends to play again.
Philip didn't played the guitar for almost 5 years and decided to pick it up again.....he even bought a new guitar! That's the spirit......

I invited my family for a dinner in two weeks and my real party would be in 1,5 month. A present from my girls. They arranged a house for the weekend and we're going to party there for 3 days....perfect!

Birthday vibes.....
I met a co-worker for lunch, cuz we didn't saw each other for months.
He was in Australia for 8 months and it was really nice to catch up on all the stories and adventures. It really inspired me to plan a new roadtrip for next year......Australia is still on my to-do-list so, who knows!!!!
After I returned home I did the laundry, some cleaning and worked on my promotion plan.
The promotion goes really well and I'm waiting for the break-through now cuz one of my contacts, who has an independent label is interested.
I'll keep my fingers crossed....cuz that would mean money :) And we can do nice things with money!!!
And I recieved a lovely surprise today.......The doorbell rang, it was my neighbour!
He collected a package for me when I was away!
It was an early birthday present from Switzerland <3
A book (it's huge, that will keep me company for a while) a very sweet card and Swiss chocolate mmm!
Thanks Salome, you made me feel real special!!!

Time for coffee and more work!
Enjoy your weekend!!

A new challenge!
Tuesday, February 3, 2009
It's snowing......

Dinner!
I have more time and drive to cook and try new things!
Today I challenged myself with an improvised dish.
I'm a huge fan of the Italian kitchen and I went to the market today to get fresh vegetables and herbs and I decided to make tagliatelle with salmon, gorgonzola cheese and cherry tomatoes.
It was freaking delicious......the combination of the strong and dominating gorgonza with the sweetness of the cherry tomatoes is fab!
My new favorite pasta dish <3
Funhouse!!

Blast from the past.....
Yes, this rockchick was a raver back in the 90's! A hardcore one to be honest.......
A black and heavy chapter in my book!
I don't talk much about this period in my life, because I'm not very proud of the person I was at that time. I was fucked up and I didn't live in the reality at all.....
It was basically sex, drugs and party that dominated my life. Anything else wasn't important!
I dated the biggest drugs dealers and needed the drugs to keep me going!
Every saturday I was in Barocci, that was the place to be for hardcore ravers.
The club was open from 22 pm till 14 pm, so for 16 hours the place was ours.
That was INSANE!!!
I really lived on the edge and I did basically everything to destroy myself!
This selfdestructive period lasted 2 years and I'm still amazed that I climbed out of that big, dark hole.
To slip into this hole is not that difficult, but to overcome this hell hole is a long and nasty road, I can tell you that!
I don't have any regrets, cuz I switched my life 180 degrees after my breaking point..... Thank god!!!
It made me a strong person and I'm actually glad that I experienced the dark side of life, because I really know how to value life now........
I found footage from the club on youtube......UNBELIEVABLE! And I even remember that night!
Time for coffee and chilling on the sofa with my book!
What a contrast.....

Home, sweet home!
I woke up at noon this Saturday......really, if I don't go out of bed I can lay there and sleep all day! No real plans this day, lovely!
Bas had to perform last night with one of his bands, but I had too much wine so I stayed at home and watched two movies. Seven pounds and Passengers.
